(Time slots will be opened up for all who wish to audition)
To begin the audition sign-up process, please gather all the following information and have your actor hanging out close by. Our current sign-up process does not give you the ability to save and come back later to finish the form. In order to complete this process you will need the following:
- Dates and roles of any performing and/or training experience.
- Your cast member so they can sign the agreements along with you.
- A credit card to pay the $225 production fee, non-refundable unless your child is not cast in the show. Once an actor has auditioned, this is non-refundable.
- Dates and reasons for ALL rehearsal or show conflicts:
Rehearsals – Friday nights & Saturdays, 1/31 – 4/3 (weekends of 3/13 & 4/10 off)
Fridays 5:30-8:30 pm; Saturdays 9:30 am – 2:30 pm
Tech Week – Monday, 4/13 through Thursday, 4/16, 5:30-9:30 pm (No conflicts allowed for Tech Week or Shows)
Six Performances – 4/17 through 4/19; will need to be available for Friday, 4/17, School Day performances
**Once you have completed all forms, registered and paid, you will be emailed the link to sign-up for your audition within 2 to 3 business days.** Please be sure to complete ALL steps AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. While we will open as many audition times as necessary for all who wish to try out, the prime slots will be taken quickly. We ask that you DO NOT SHARE THE AUDITION LINK with anyone else. Thank you!
CONFLICT/UNEXCUSED ABSENCE POLICY: Those absences not listed on the audition form are considered unexcused. **Please note: unexcused absences could result in a cast member being cut from a scene. Unexcused absences once the run-through process, dress rehearsals, or shows have begun WILL cause an actor to be eligible ONLY for an ensemble role in the next NYT show for which they audition. Exceptions, on a case-by-case basis, are made for illness and emergency.

MATILDA
An imaginative girl who is clever and wise far beyond her years. She has a thirst for learning that cannot be quenched. Essential, enigmatic, serious, intense.

MISS AGATHA TRUNCHBULL
The tyrannical headmistress at Matilda’s school who despises children. Can be played by a male or female. STRONG comedy and vocal ability.

MISS HONEY
Matilda’s kindhearted teacher. Soft spoken and kind. She befriends Matilda. She is tired of living in fear under Miss Trunchbull.

WORMWOOD
Matilda’s uncaring father. A slimy, greedy used-car salesman. Strong comedic acting needed.

MRS. WORMWOOD
Matilda’s self-absorbed, negligent mother and an amateur ballroom dancer. Strong singer & dancer needed.

MRS. PHELPS
The kind Librarian who takes a liking to Matilda. Strong actress.
MICHAEL WORMWOOD
Matilda’s older brother. He is not very bright, and yet favored by their parents. Comedic actor.

Character in Matilda’s story. Strong singer and dancer.

BRUCE
Matilda’s classmate. He is subject to extreme punishment by Miss Trunchbull for eating a piece of her cake.

LAVENDER
Matilda’s classmate and friend. She puts a newt in Trunchbull’s water.
Strong singing and acting. Loud and kooky – likes to have fun – big
personality.
AMANDA
Strong dance and vocal ability. She gets in trouble for wearing pigtails.
ALICE
Essential Strong and Bold. Strong dance and vocal ability.
HORTENSIA
She uses an inhaler. Essential Feisty. Strong dance and vocal ability.
ERIC
Has his ears pulled after being accused of putting the newt in Trunchbull’s water. Strong dance and vocal ability.
NIGEL
Accused of pouring syrup onto Trunchbull’s chair. Essential Vocal stamina for spoken dialogue. Strong dance ability. Strong vocal ability.
TOMMY
Essential strong dance and vocal ability.
SCHOOL CHILDREN
Other featured parts with solos and lines. These characters will play numerous roles in the show.
Acting, singing and dance needed for these roles.
THE “BIG” KIDS:
A very STRONG group of dancers and singers. They are the tough kids at the school. There are solo lines, parts in this group.
