CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Mal
The daughter of Maleficent
Smart, sharp-tongued, and fiercely independent. Mal is used to surviving by being tough and sarcastic, but underneath she’s curious, vulnerable, and learning how to trust others. She struggles between who she was raised to be and who she wants to become. Strong actor and singer with emotional range; confident stage presence required.

Evie
The daughter of the Evil Queen
Fashion-forward, kindhearted, and smarter than people initially expect. Evie values loyalty and friendship and often acts as the emotional glue of the group. She wants to be loved for who she truly is, not just her looks. Strong singer with warmth and charm; comedic timing is a plus.

Jay
The son of Jafar
Athletic, confident, and street-smart. Jay is competitive and energetic, often using humor and bravado to cover his insecurities. He enjoys pushing limits but grows into leadership and teamwork. Strong dancer and mover; confident presence and high energy.

Carlos
The son of Cruella de Vil
Sweet, anxious, and lovable. Carlos starts off fearful (especially of dogs) but grows into courage and self-confidence. He brings heart and humor to the show. Excellent for a strong character actor with good comedic instincts and sincerity.

Ben
The son of Belle and the Beast; future king of Auradon
Optimistic, kind, and idealistic. Ben truly believes people can change and leads with empathy. He has natural authority without arrogance and serves as the moral center of the story. Strong singer and actor; needs warmth, confidence, and emotional honesty.

Maleficent
Mal’s mother and the main antagonist
Powerful, commanding, and intimidating. Maleficent is driven by control, revenge, and fear of vulnerability. She dominates the stage whenever she appears. Strong actor with a bold voice and commanding physical presence.

Fairy Godmother
Headmistress of Auradon Prep
Proper, polished, and well-intentioned, but sometimes out of touch. She believes strongly in rules and order and contrasts sharply with the Villain Kids. A comedic authority figure with a big personality. Strong singer with confidence and comedic clarity.

King Beast
Ben’s father
Firm, protective, and cautious. Beast is skeptical of change and wants to keep Auradon safe at all costs. He represents tradition and fear of the unknown. Strong actor with authority; vocal singing role is moderate.

Queen Belle
Ben’s mother
Kind, thoughtful, and compassionate. Belle balances Beast’s sternness with empathy and wisdom. She believes in growth, learning, and understanding others. Graceful stage presence; nurturing but strong.

Audrey
Auradon royalty and former “perfect princess”
Entitled, image-focused, and deeply insecure. Audrey feels threatened by Mal and fears losing her place in Auradon. Her behavior is driven by jealousy and hurt rather than cruelty. Strong character actress with confidence, attitude, and emotional depth.

Chad Charming
Son of Cinderella
Arrogant, spoiled, and self-important. Chad is obsessed with status and appearances and often provides comic relief through exaggerated confidence. Strong comedic timing and physicality helpful.

Jane
Fairy Godmother’s daughter
Shy, sweet, and intelligent. Jane is nervous at first but grows in confidence and self-worth, especially through friendship. Strong actor with vulnerability and growth; clear, sweet singing voice.

Cruella de Vil
Carlos’s over-the-top mother. Loud, dramatic, and intimidating, Cruella believes cruelty equals strength and pushes her son to be “tough,” whether he wants to be or not.

Evil Queen
Evie’s cold, elegant mother. Obsessed with beauty and status, the Evil Queen measures worth by perfection and appearances above all else.

Jafar
Jay’s calculating and smooth-talking father. Jafar values power, intelligence, and winning at any cost—and expects his son to do the same.
