Studio Drop Policy

Studio drops must be submitted via a Drop or Transfer Request Form.  If received by the 15th of the month, you will not be billed for the following month. Drops made after the 15th will be processed (and billed) for the following month.  Missed classes will not result in prorated tuition or refund. No make up classes will be offered. All payments will cease at the end of the session. After January 15, classes cannot be dropped for the rest of the year.  Classes a student is enrolled in on January 16 will be billed throughout the remainder of the Studio year.

Each recital class will be charged a recital fee in October.  See those fees and deadlines here.

Dropping or transferring classes must be done using the Drop or Transfer Request Form.  Telling an instructor or emailing staff will not drop or transfer a student.

Parents and students should read through the following policies.  These are in addition to our Dress Code policy and policies that require agreement during class registration, such as the tuition and drop policy.Studio Communication
As a Studio family, you will receive monthly emails to stay informed.  Watch for those in your inbox around the first of the month, which will also appear at the top of the Facebook group. We use a Facebook for time-sensitive communication like class cancellations or reminders of the class schedule plus sharing documents, reminders, practice videos, updates, and so much more.
https://m.facebook.com/groups/788775209571869/?ref=share&mibextid=S66gvFNYT Text Alerts will inform you of class closures, last-minute class changes, and other time-sensitive information.  It is to your benefit to sign up for these.  They are rare but important. https://eztxt.net/Ncqfcb

Attendance
While there is no formal attendance policy, regular attendance is required for recital classes leading up to the recital performance. Additionally, recital classes the week prior to the recital are mandatory attendance.  Otherwise, there are no consequences for missing class other than missed instruction, which can affect a student’s performance ability.

Parent Volunteer Hours
All families who have 1 or more students enrolled in a recital class are required to volunteer 1 adult for 2-3 hours for the event.  These hours could occur during the dress rehearsal, before or after the recital, during the recital intermission, or in the weeks leading up to it.  Every family will get to watch all of the recital, no matter volunteer hours.  There are no volunteer hours for parents during the recital.

Cell Phone /  Use Technology
Student cell phone / technology use at Studio should be 1) for school purposes only 2) between scheduled classes and 3) within eye-shot of a staff member.  Otherwise, phones should remain in bags or put away unless a staff member has given a student permission.  Cell phone use tends to prohibit natural conversation among people, and we want Studio break times to be one of community building. No Perfumes or Spray Deodorant
In general, we ask students NOT to spray anything strongly odorous (good or bad) while participating in NYT events.
This applies anywhere indoors:
large groups, small groups, the foyer, classrooms, bathrooms, etc.
‼️Do not let this deter you from reapplying deodorant during breaks.  We highly encourage the use and reapplication of stick deodorants.Foyer Policy
Following is the updated foyer policy for Studio nights at each facility. This pertains to any adult or student who will be in the building for an extended period between classes.
🔘Being able to stay in the foyer when not in class is a privilege.
🔘The foyer space is not available at all locations at all times.  Please be aware of the stated no-foyer times at individual locations.
🔘If not in class students, parents, and siblings must remain in the foyer. The rest of the church building/property will not be open to those not in class.
🔘NYT can not watch or be responsible for anyone outside of the building. Each child not in class needs to be accompanied by a parent OR remain in the foyer of the church to be supervised by our front desk attendant.
🔘There is no playground access.
🔘Rules will be enforced by front desk and other faculty in foyer.
🔘If eating food, it needs to be cleaned by the persons consuming it.
🔘Lost and Found will be kept in a bin and brought to the studio each week. If items are still present after a month of being found with no one claiming them, they will be disposed of.
🔘Students and Parents staying need to be respectful of others. Please, be aware classes are in session so rough playing or loud music / conversations will not be allowed.
🔘If there are consistent problems with the foyer policies, the front desk will reserve the right to ask those disrespecting the rules to leave.
🔘The Studio Phone / Technology Policy states that students using devices should be doing so for school purposes only, and the screens should be visible by the front desk attendant.

Sick Policy
Students are welcome to classes and events as long as they are fever-free and vomit-free without medication for 24 hours prior to said activity.
