HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CLASSES?
Use the orange registration button anywhere on our website or click THIS LINK.  You’ll need to create a free account first, which requires that you enter a payment method.  You aren’t charged until you enroll in a class or event.

Within the registration system, only classes your student is eligible for based on age will show up as enrollment options.  Only students with approval may enroll in a leveled class, even Level 1.

The class schedule is published in May.
Registration opens in June and closes in September, with the exception of a few entry-level and technique classes.

CAN I TRY A CLASS BEFORE SIGNING UP?
We allow a 1-week trial for any class a student is eligible for.  Email [email protected] if you want to visit or try a class before enrolling.

HOW DOES ENROLLMENT/YOUR CALENDAR WORK?
Classes run from August (when schools resume) through the end of April / early May with a break in December.  Enrollment is for the year, with the exception of Audition Prep.  A full list of dates and all class meetings can be found on our Studio Dates page.

For recital dance classes, here’s a more detailed breakdown.
Fall semester – technique and combos
After winter break – choreography
Late February / early March – recital
After recital – technique
Last week of class – evaluations & leveling / class observation for non-recital classes

HOW IS TUITION BILLED?
Tuition is billed monthly based on 1 hour and half hour increments. See our Tuition Pricing and Policies for more information.

CAN I DROP A CLASS IF I DECIDE I DON’T LIKE IT?
Students may drop or transfer classes for any reason.  To do either of those, simply fill out a Drop/Transfer Request form.  You’ll receive a confirmation email.  This form can also be found on our Studio class page.

WHAT’S YOUR ATTENDANCE POLICY?
We have no formal attendance policy, but regular attendance is required for recital classes leading up to the performance. There are no consequences for missing class other than missed instruction, which can affect a student’s performance ability.

IS THERE A PLACE FOR WAITING PARENTS WHILE STUDENTS ARE IN CLASSES?
Collective Church and Grand Central Church each have a lobby with minimal seating.  Students with a break between classes and waiting parents may remain in the lobby as long as they do not cause a disturbance.

Tomball Methodist Church does not have a place for waiting parents, but students with a break between classes sit in a classroom with adult supervision.

IS THERE A PLACE FOR STUDENTS WAITING BETWEEN CLASSES?
Students waiting between classes or waiting on siblings may stay at the facility. Students not taking classes may not be left unattended.

HOW DOES A STUDENT GET INTO A LEVELED CLASS?
Leveled classes, even Level 1, are for students with prior dance experience.  A student can be evaluated within their own current class in the spring or at a summer Dance Intensive.  Students new to our studio can fill out a Placement Form to note prior dance experience and receive feedback.  If new to the program, drama and vocals will be leveled by a staff member.  Any students, regardless of level, may take classes for their age.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TECHNIQUE-ONLY CLASS AND A RECITAL CLASS?
Technique-only classes teach each dance style technique and combos but are not part of the recital.  Recital classes teach technique, combos, and choreography and are part of the recital.

WHAT IF A CLASS IS FULL? CAN I JOIN A WAITLIST?
Yes! To add a student to a waitlist and view full classes, log into your account and click on “Show me full classes with waitlists” within the registration system (right-hand side under Find Classes).

When a spot opens up, you will receive an email notification asking if you are still interested in the class.  Accounts are not charged for the waitlist.  Students are not moved from the waitlist without consent from parent/guardian of account.

We have some movement all year, so join the waitlist!

ARE CLASSES A REQUIREMENT TO BE INVOLVED IN SHOWS?  CAN YOU DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME?
NYT Studio classes are designed to enhance our musical productions but are not a requirement to participate in shows.  Students may take classes individually and not take part in a production. And they may be cast in a show and not take classes.  We encourage all students to continue learning and growing no matter what stage or level they reach.  NYT Studio classes are a great place to do that.
