WHO CAN ATTEND THE DANCE INTENSIVE?
Anyone aged 5-19 as of September 1, 2026. We welcome students who have been part of our dance classes, other dance studios, and brand new dancers.
HOW LONG IS THE INTENSIVE?
Ages 12-19: Runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a local venue.
Ages 5-11: Runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a local venue.
CAN PARENTS STAY TO WATCH?
This is a drop-off event. Only students and camp staff will be allowed to remain after the start time.
WILL THERE BE A SHOWCASE OR ANYTHING TO WATCH AT THE END?
Because this is strictly an intensive week of dance, all our efforts go into technical training for our dancers. There will not be time for parents to come watch at the end.

All students will take ballet, as it is the foundation for many other dance styles. Students will also get to sign up for elective classes. In years past, we have offered classes in acro, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, stretch technique, ballet variations, swing/Latin, and worship. Each summer’s electives will depend on the instructors.
WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?
Ages 12-19: We bring in guest choreographers each summer as well as pull from our own staff.
Ages 5-11: Our own Studio Dance Company will serve as some of the instructors for this age.
Once we secure instructors, you can find their pictures and bios on our Dance Intensive page and social media.
WHAT SHOULD THE DANCERS BRING?
Dance shoes, water, and lunch (ages 12-19) and a snack (ages 5-11).
WHAT SHOULD THE DANCERS WEAR?
All students should arrive in Ballet attire, which includes a leotard and preferably tights, but leggings are also accepted. Hair in a bun. Ballet shoes. You may wear a ballet skirt or fitted shorts over tights.
Males should wear athletic pants and a fitted tank or t-shirt.
As for shoes, you will need ballet shoes…and then depending on what electives a student takes, they will need tap, and jazz for those named classes; sneakers for Hip Hop; barefoot or turners for Acro and Modern.
If you do not own dance shoes and are unsure of your dance commitment, you may dance in socks instead of jazz and ballet shoes. (We will have a bin of donated dance shoes you can look through as well if you are new to dance or need a new size.)
Hair should be in a bun for ballet and out of the face for other classes.
Any length of legging for the Acro elective class.
No bare legs or shorts are allowed. No midriffs.
