The jungle is jumpin’ with a jazzy beat in Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie.

Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin’ musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle.

PARENT COMMITMENT:
There is no parent commitment for the mini musical, but we welcome parents who would like to volunteer. While costumes, sets, and props will be minimal for the mini musical, we will need volunteers to assist backstage with cast wrangling, costumes, backstage (sets/props), and mics. Once registration is complete, you will be sent a link to join a Facebook group.  In that group you will find a volunteer form for those who want to help out.

FAQs:

Will the script and songs be provided prior to auditions?
Yes, the script and songs/music will be available so that kids can come to auditions prepared and familiar with songs and lines from the show. They are not expected to memorize songs or lines from the script for auditions, but it would be beneficial to them to be familiar with them.

Will there be a parent volunteer commitment for rehearsals and shows?
There is no parent commitment for the mini musical, but we welcome parents who would like to volunteer.  While costumes, sets, and props will be minimal for the mini musical, we will need volunteers to assist backstage with cast wrangling, costumes, backstage (sets/props), and mics. Once registration is complete, you will be sent a link to join a Facebook group.  In that group you will find a volunteer form for those who want to help out.

How is this different from a day camp?
The mini musical is a 30-minute production with minimal sets, props, and costumes. Kids will go through a short audition process and rehearse for 5 days to prepare for a mini musical production with full songs, choreography, and blocking.  For day camps, students learn material for the first half of the week through rotations of games, drama, vocals, and choreography.  There are more camp-like activities at a day camp, including a “water day.”  Consider this Mini Musical a few steps below a full musical production.
