Here’s a quick overview of our productions:
⭐Three shows per season (fall, spring, summer).
⭐Auditions held around August, January, and May.
⭐Approximately 8-9 weekends of rehearsals for each show.
⭐Each production concludes with tech week (Monday-Thursday) and show weekend (5-7 performances).
⭐Cast members can participate in only one show per season.
⭐The registration fee for each show is $255, payable upon registration. Scholarships and payment plans are available.
⭐If a student drops out before auditions, the fee is refunded minus a $45 processing fee.
⭐Cast cuts may occur for any show, and announcements regarding cuts are made before auditions if necessary. Students not cast will receive a full refund.

⭐Auditions⭐
Auditions for fall and spring shows are held on a Friday night, with callbacks on Saturday. Summer show auditions vary by day but are held over two consecutive days. You’ll audition with a group of 10-15 students in front of the show directing team. This is your vocal and acting audition. Each student has 1 minute to shine. You can choose to sing, perform a monologue, or do both. Most students sing a song. Parents are allowed to watch the audition group with their student and record only their student if they wish. For help with auditions, see this page with What to Expect, Audition Tips, and FAQs. These links explain how to pick a song, prepare, and more. Many of our Studio instructors offer private audition coaching. See this page for their contact information: Studio Instructors.

⭐Dance Auditions⭐
Dance auditions vary by show. Sometimes they are held on Friday night, and other times on Saturday morning. There’s no need to prepare a choreography routine for the audition. Students should come ready to learn and perform a routine to the best of their ability. Jazz shoes are recommended, but athletic shoes are also acceptable.

⭐Rehearsals⭐
Each show will rehearse for about 8-9 weekends: Friday nights from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Not every cast member will be needed at every rehearsal. After the first weekend, a schedule of rehearsals will be posted to give you an idea of when your student is needed.

Check out our Rehearsal Dress Code here.

⭐Additional Expenses⭐
The $255 registration fee includes the cast member show shirt, character photo, show photos, countless hours of theater instruction, and friendships-a-plenty.  The fee DOES NOT include costume basics like character shoes, specific socks, or undergarments.  We do ask that both male and female cast members purchase a stage makeup kit, which you’ll hear about during the 2nd of 2 parent meetings.

⭐Cuts⭐
We would love to cast every student who auditions, but sometimes interest in a show exceeds our rehearsal space. In those cases, a student’s registration fee can be refunded or transferred to another show during the same season. There are a few ways to transfer a student/registration fee: audition for the next show in the season or be cast in the ensemble of another show during the same season. If neither option is chosen, the registration fee will be refunded. Generally, each show can typically cast 95 students.

⭐Dropping a Show⭐
Students may drop a show before auditions without any repercussions. In that case, a refund minus the $45 processing fee will be issued. Dropping a show after auditions disqualifies a student from auditioning for another show in the same season. By dropping a show, you will only be considered for a role in the ensemble/chorus for your next show.  Anyone who drops a show after auditions forfeits their registration fee.

⭐Parent Volunteer Requirement⭐
One reason we can keep production fees low is by having parents volunteer. This is something you’ll see again in the “Welcome to the Show” email. It’s a good idea to understand the expectations before you sign up.

➡  The parent volunteer requirement of a minimum of 30 hours prior to tech week is MANDATORY for ALL families whose child is cast in the show. Please be sure that you or a family member will be available to fulfill this commitment.
➡  Either you (the parent) or a family member must also be available for all of tech week and show weekend.  You will be able to watch one show and volunteer for all others. This is how we keep our fees low!
➡  Families who do not meet their required hours either during the pre-show or show week will be charged up to $600 (up to $300 for pre-show and up to $300 for tech/show week). Fees are prorated based on the number of volunteer hours completed.
