WHAT ARE THE DAYS AND HOURS OF CAMP?
Age 15-19: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. + Saturday 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Campers come and go each day and will enjoy camp activities both on and off site.
Thursday night is an optional lock-in for this age group.  Most campers stay, but a few do go home to sleep in their own beds…and take a shower.  It’s totally up to each camper.
Campers in a summer show with a rehearsal conflict will be excused early to attend final run throughs before the showcase.
Age 12-14:  Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. + Saturday 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Campers come and go each day and will enjoy camp activities both on and off site.
This age group does not have a lock-in.

WHAT HAPPENS AT CAMP?
Campers spend several hours each day singing and dancing in rehearsal for the showcase at the end of the camp. But they also spend time in worship, devotions, small groups, fellowship, and fun activities. These vary year to year, but past camps have included things like ropes course, water slides, Incredible pizza, color wars, ice cream and taco trucks, swimming, themed dance party, silent disco, Minute to Win It games, talent contest, and so much more. And there is always some downtime to hang with friends.

WHAT IS THE CAMP SHOWCASE LIKE?
There will be 2 identical showcase performances for the combined group of students.   It is approximately a 60-minute program that highlights all the campers learned at camp. Please invite your family and friends to come with you to see it at the end of camp.
The camp showcase is a free event tentatively set for 6 & 7 p.m. Saturday.  Tickets are NOT necessary for entry.  It is recorded each year and will be sent out in a link via email about 2 weeks after camp ends.

ARE THERE AUDITIONS?
Yes, but they are very informal.  It is suggested that your campers know the songs before they come to camp. Those will be posted in the camp Facebook group which you will have access to after registering. Then on the first day, the directors will give campers an opportunity to show off their singing and dancing talents. Based on this, directors will place kids in groups, and if applicable, assign roles, for the showcase.

WHAT IF WE AREN’T CHRISTIANS?
Everyone is welcome! We would love the opportunity to get to know your students and teach them theater. While we do spend time in worship and devotions each day, no one is required to participate. Most of the day is spent on theater skills and fun activities.

ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO STAY?
No, this is a drop-off camp. Don’t worry, we will take good care of all campers. But do plan to come see all they learned at Saturday’s showcase.  We will need some parent volunteers for camp check in, meal prep / clean-up, and a few other items.  So if you like being involved, we’ve got a place for you.

IS YOUR STAFF BACKGROUND CHECKED?
Yes. All staff 18 and over is background checked.

WHAT ABOUT FOOD AND DRINKS?
We feed campers while they are with us for Teen Camp.   Additionally, camp will have a snack bar with purchase options ranging from $1 to $3. Please send a LABELED refillable water bottle with them, though — they are going to work up a thirst!
Age 15-19: Lunch and dinner M-F plus breakfast Friday morning after the lock-in.  Saturday includes a pizza dinner before the showcase.
Age 12-14: Lunch and dinner M-F. Saturday includes a pizza dinner before the showcase.

Allergy Note:  We cannot accommodate all allergies.  We can provide alternate bread choices, but they may not be certified free of allergens.  If Camper has a severe food allergy, please be prepared to send food for him/her.
Registered families will receive a questionnaire in the weeks before camp to indicate things like allergies, special needs, time away, etc.  Camp kitchen staff will reach out for more information.

ARE MY KIDS ABLE TO BE IN THE SAME GROUP AS THEIR SIBLINGS OR FRIENDS?
It depends on age. They are broken into small groups based on age within each week of camp.  But they are more than welcome to spend time together at meals, during activities, and during free time.  Before camp begins, you will receive a questionnaire with an opportunity to let us know if you’ve invited a friend or been invited.  We want to make sure students who are NEW to NYT are placed in a small group with the person who invited him / her.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILDREN WEAR TO CAMP?
Comfortable athletic clothing and shoes work great.  Take a look at the NYT Dress Code for specific guidelines.  Basically, leggings and a leotard with a t-shirt or jacket for girls and athletic shorts / pants and t-shirt for guys.  Color of leggings / leotard does not matter.  If girls do not own a leotard, a t-shirt works fine.  Your camp coordinator will provide a packing list including all needed clothing and shoes for the week of camp.

MAY I GET A REFUND?
No, sorry camp tuition is non-refundable. We have incurred expenses up front planning for your kids to be at camp.
